Over the past 3 years we have sold over 1000 vehicles on ebay and decided that we would take a new approach to the advertising. Let's face it, when you buy a car on ebay the main thing you are lacking is the ability to test drive. Our new approach to the marketplace will be to give you a "virtual test drive" so to speak. Rather than a fancy description we are going to keep it simple. We are going to pair a description of our test drive and mechanic evaluation with a list of the pro's and con's of this particular car. These will be based on years of buying vehicles and knowing what to look for when purchasing. Please remember above all that it is IMPOSSIBLE for a used car to be perfect so any seller that doesn't list flaws is just not being thorough, we are taking the guess work out of online buying. Please also remember that we are doing our best to describe them well but if you have a specific question just ask and we will respond promptly. Upon getting the car in we did a full service (oil and trans fluid and filter change, spark plugs, water pump, thermostat, pcv valve, replaced front brakes) and found a slight leak in the transmission pan gasket (very common on these cars) so we replaced the entire pan. Then I drove it about 350 miles as my demo for a week and noticed no problems with brake fade, no odd noises, and no blown speakers and no odd shakes. You would think it had 20k miles on it when you drive this car! It is tight and smooth and drives beautifully. All accessories worked well (even the rear sunshade) and the car on the whole seemed to run out exceptionally well. You could definitely tell it was well cared for. When I returned and checked it out in the shop I found no issues. The brakes have tons of life left in the rear and are brand new up front and the matching set of tires still have plenty of tread left as well. We have done all of the major service work these cars require so you really can just get in and drive!
The Good:
stunning condition! - no interior malfunctions (ie seats, windows etc) - no major blemishes on exterior - huge service just completed - rust free- no fade to the headlights - just serviced and needs nothing mechanically - extremely clean car - touch screen navigation - car looks new
The Bad: see the pic of the chips on the rear bumper - also there are a few light scuffs under the front bumper from parking to close to curbs (only visible if you are looking under the bumper but we try to be picky with our descriptions.

HOW WE CREATE OUR CONDITION REPORT
COSMETIC:
When you walk around a car on a lot you tend to think about several things based on the appearance and condition of the items you see. Obviously nobody walks around a car and says "that fender looks excellent" and if they do, what does that mean? Below I have have put the terms used in the condition report in a more user friendly context. Imagine walking around this car with a buddy and sharing opinions, if I were that buddy then this is what I would say.
-Excellent: "wow, I just can't believe how clean this car is for its age"
-Good: "for being ____ years old this is in really nice shape and was obviously cared for"
-Average: "well its not new but for a ___ year old car this is no more wear than I'd expect"
-Poor: "I think this part will definitely need some attention to get it to where I'd like it to be"
Mechanical:
When you go to a lot and drive a car for the first time you immediately notice things about it. "Does the engine idle smoothly", "does the transmission shift right", "do the brakes feel good", "is the exhaust quiet", "does the car feel tight or does it wander and rattle"? These are the questions that go through my mind as I drive each car. Again, please imagine that I am the guy you are riding with during your test drive and when looking at the condition report, these are the things I would say.
-Excellent: "this is amazing how great this is, obviously the part has either been recently replaced or well cared for throughout the life of the car"
-Good: "this area of the car feels good and definitely won't need any attention in the near future"
-Average: "for the age, I would expect this type of wear and most likely you will need to give it some minor attention shortly after purchase"
-Poor: "this is something that will need work before the car is able to be driven daily"
The only items that don't really follow this guide are brakes and tires. If we rate them excellent it means we just changed them. Good means they have more than 50% life left and anything less than that and we just replace them prior to sale or clearly note it in the auction.
